The University Committee is the executive committee of the Faculty Senate. The committee is composed of six members who are elected at-large and represent the four faculty divisions (Arts & Humanities, Biological Sciences, Physical Sciences, and Social Sciences). Each member serves a three-year term, with two members elected each year.
The committee is the liaison between faculty and other shared governance bodies and is often involved in the creation and composition of other faculty committees. The committee makes recommendations to the faculty or administration, and can provide advice directly or refer issues to the faculty for discussion. The University Committee also plays an important external role, representing faculty within the Universities of Wisconsin.
